Why Georgia drying can take longer
Drying is not about the air blowing. It is about moving water out of the material and then out of the room. When the outside air is already humid, as it is most of the summer here, dehumidifiers have more work to do and each day removes less.
Dense materials hold on the longest. Concrete slabs and thick framing can take a week or more, while wet carpet pad is usually removed and gone in a day. Hardwood sits in between and depends on how fast a drying mat system starts.
A day with no readings is a guess. We measure each day and pull the equipment only when the numbers match dry material in the same house.
What can add days
- Water that sat more than two days before drying began
- Closed wall cavities with insulation inside
- Finished basements over a slab that keeps releasing moisture
- Rain returning while the clay is still saturated
Services that match this
- Structural Cavity & Drywall DehumidificationSmall access holes and sealed hoses move dry air through wet wall cavities, saving drywall, trim and finishes that would otherwise be torn out.
- Hardwood Floor Advanced Drying Mat SystemsVacuum mats and low-heat drying pull water out of tongue-and-groove hardwood quickly, so boards flatten instead of cupping and a replacement is avoided.
- Thermal Imaging & Hidden Moisture MappingInfrared scans and moisture meters trace hidden water behind insulation, drywall and flooring without cutting first, so repairs target the actual wet area.

Questions about this tool
Can I speed up drying with fans?
Fans alone move damp air around. Without a dehumidifier removing the moisture, a closed house can stay wet. Equipment sized to the room works much faster.
Why does the crew come back every day?
To read moisture, move equipment and adjust it. Drying changes daily, and the daily record is what shows it finished.
Is the result a guarantee?
No. It is a typical range. Your house may finish sooner or later, and the readings decide.
When is it safe to rebuild?
When wood, drywall and slab read dry compared with dry material in the same house, and the area has been cleaned and treated if needed.
